Gretchen Zimmerman knew she was killing her career at Global United Systems when she blew the whistle on the corporate fraud she uncovered.  What she wasn’t expecting, was the death threat that followed.

John Scott spent years remaking himself from the awkward, acne-inflicted teen who’d grown up on the wrong side of the tracks in a small Midwestern town - the same town that Gretchen Zimmerman had once called home.

Fate brings the two together again when John, now an FBI agent, is assigned to Gretchen’s protection detail, only, Gretchen doesn’t recognize him.  However, she does recognize a very appealing man in Special Agent John Scott - a man who has to fight memories and attraction so he can focus on his job of keeping Gretchen safe.
